#WoodheadFire Update -Although the Woodhead Fire has burned over 90,000 acres, not all those acres have burned. The fire has created a mosaic pattern, varying from low to high intensity burn, depending on terrain and vegetation. And leaving island of unburned vegetation. The mosaic is highly desirable for landscape diversity and ecological health. This newly created mosaic will help reduce future large fires in the area.Firefighters continue to secure and protect structures today and will continue during night operations. Firefighters are working to secure the northern flank with direction line and working to complete a firing operation to removed fuel and stop fire progression.Dozers and masticator continue to work the eastern flank, creating indirect fireline and improving existing fireline.
