INFO:
Read below!! See profile for mini vlog. But Comment if you need the audio version😂 1. Departure time : Train leaves Nairobi on Friday 9am gets to Nanyuki around 6pm. It comes back to Nairobi from Nanyuki at 9am on Sunday. That is the fixed schedule except holidays where it goes daily. This weekend trip happens all year round 1.5. Booking - You can’t book online you book in person. Nairobi Terminus is next to the roundabout that is close to bomblast. Thika terminus is around Runda estate close to Bidco around some school . Check the comments to the vlog, someone wrote it there. I took an Uber bike to the place.🤷🏽‍♀️You could also ask the mat and boda guys once you get to thika or use Google Maps. 🙃 2. The Cabin - VIP ticket is 1000 bob to & fro so 2000 in total. And regular 200 so 400.The cabin holds 4 people max(you all have to pay the 1k each). You can get the cabin alone if its not too busy or you can buy someone ‘chai’💀 to make sure you stay alone. No, you can’t smoke inside there, the cabins are too close to each other. But you won’t get searched. 3. Length : The trip is very long carry a source of entertainment. Carry snacks as well. The train makes several stops(very many in fact) and you can buy snacks (smokies, chapos, mahindi chemsha😂) at one of the stops. My advice, carry your own snacks. 4. Stay in Nanyuki : Nimmohs homestays. 5500 for 2 nights not inclusive of food . I spent like 5k on food but you coukd spend way way less. Got them on booking.com. Room was super tiny but the gardens in the apartment area were so beautiful and absolutely worth it. Very Serene ✨. Please watch the mini vlog on my profile to see 5. Network during the trip is a bit shaky. Shaky for meetings but survivable for socials. 6. Other suggested areas - aberdare prestige, royal cottage , olesamara(someone left these in the comments, do your due diligence) 7. Additional- I boarded from Thika terminus after i missed the 9am from Nairobi, I would also advice you alight at this point. The stops from Thika to Nairobi are soooo many. Its faster with a mat. 8. My next trip is Suswa🙂‍↔️
